Festival Report
Wo die Hase durch Bersenbrück fließt, bauten wir unser Roots Camp auf – die Dub- und Soundsystem-Area des Reggae Jam Festivals. Zwei Wochen lang: bauen, schrauben, feiern und Dub in die Welt tragen. Neben Crews wie Rootsplague, Zion Garden, Rise Up HiFi und Simple Skank stellten wir unsere Türme dazu. Am Ende standen sieben Stacks im Circle of Dub – geschützt vom Hangar, umhüllt von einer erdenden und einzigartigen Lichtshow. Diese war auch ein kleines Highlight ein echtes Herzensprojekt: rund 60 Lampen, gebaut aus Ästen und bunten Stoffen, schmückten die alte Eiche über unseren Controles. So entstand eine Spielwiese aus Boxen, Holz, Bäumen, Food und endlosem Bass. Die Amore Crew hat das Camp in eine Erlebniswelt verwandelt – auch für die Kids. Zum ersten Mal gab es ein Mini-Soundsystem mit Preamp und Dancefloor, wo die nächste Generation als Selecta, MC oder Tänzer*in auf die Bühne konnte. Seeds were planted – Roots & Culture fi di youth.
Der Start am Donnerstag kam mit Simple Skank und Roots Plague im Studio-One-Style. Abends dann unser eigenes fünfstündiges Set – angeführt von Black Omolo, unterstützt von Sistah Jahiah und Bobo Nattywell aus Guadeloupe. Pure Rasta Roots and heavy Dub.
Freitag wurde es offiziell. Acts wie Fontoyard, Stepper One, Mighty Oak, Chalwa Sound, Fraylo & Stella Brown, Step By Step und viele mehr waren dabei. Abends dann die Soundkonferenzen: Rise Up vs. Roots Plague am Freitag, Zion Garden vs. Roots Plague am Samstag. Rad Divarius an der Violine brachte den Vibe, unterstützt von Mandlion, Cobby und Lence Hume. Und dann MC Tubby aus Belgien – immer spontan am und überragend Mic. Es war das erste treffen unsererseits mit Tubby und zu dem Zeitpunkt wussten wir alle noch nicht das daraus etwas größeres wird!!
Samstag kam ein Sturm, der uns zum Umbau zwang. Doch die Community hielt zusammen. Mit Hilfe der Holzakrobaten und unserer Strong Oak stand das Camp schnell wieder stabil. Big up an alle, die mit angepackt haben – together we are strong! Am Ende bleibt nur eins zu sagen:
Vibes – top. Food – top a top. Crew – top. Reggae Jam – top. Bersenbrück – top.
Wir zählen schon die Tage bis Roots Camp 2026 – more fire, more dub, more unity.
Where the river Hase flows through Bersenbrück, we set up our Roots Camp – the Dub and Soundsystem area of the Reggae Jam Festival. Two weeks of building, tweaking, celebrating and spreading Dub to the world. Alongside Rootsplague, Zion Garden, Rise Up HiFi and Simple Skank we raised our towers. In the end seven stacks stood strong in the Circle of Dub – sheltered by the hangar, wrapped in a truly grounding lightshow.
One special highlight this year was our heart project: about 60 handmade lamps, crafted from branches and colorful fabrics, decorated the old oak tree above our controls. Around it a playground unfolded – speakers, wood, trees, food and endless bass. The Amore Crew turned the camp into a world of experience – also for the kids. For the very first time we had a mini soundsystem with preamp and dancefloor, where the next generation could step up as selecta, MC or dancer. Seeds were planted – Roots & Culture fi di youth.
The festival kicked off on Thursday with Simple Skank and Roots Plague in Studio One style. At night our own system ran a five-hour set, led by Black Omolo and joined by Sistah Jahiah and Bobo Nattywell from Guadeloupe. Pure Rasta Roots and heavy Dub.
Friday things went official. Acts like Fontoyard, Stepper One, Mighty Oak, Chalwa Sound, Fraylo & Stella Brown, Step By Step and many more came through. In the evenings the legendary sound conferences took place: Rise Up vs. Roots Plague on Friday, Zion Garden vs. Roots Plague on Saturday. Rad Divarius on violin lifted the vibe, joined by Mandlion, Cobby and Lence Hume. And then there was MC Tubby from Belgium – grabbing the mic spontaneously, firing lyrics and setting the camp on fire.
Saturday a storm forced us into a quick rebuild. But the community stood strong. Thanks to the wood acrobats and our Strong Oak the camp was back on its feet in no time. Big up to everyone who helped – together we are strong.
And in the end, only one thing left to say:
